On Wednesday 5th September, Mark Wilson, Managing Director of Willow Resourcing, was a volunteer expert and ‘dragon’ for the day at a Splash event held in conjunction with Gloucestershire College. These events are dedicated to help college students to develop their business and entrepreneurial skills so they are better prepared to find work once their courses are completed. Mark volunteers for these fantastic events as part of our ongoing commitment to our community programme here at Willow Resourcing.

The day consisted of a variety of tasks, from sales pitches to product development and from marketing to financial management. Throughout the day, Mark and the other experts were on hand to provide feedback and advice so the students could constantly improve their business proposition. The day culminated in a ‘Dragons Den’ style round of presentations, with awards being made for the best business idea and for the most impressive individuals on the day. It was a hugely enjoyable day for students and experts alike and the feedback from all those who took part suggests that a great deal was learnt, by all parties! It was great to see the students confidence and abilities improve during the day as well as the enthusiasm displayed by all. Products included a kinetic smart phone charger and excellent travel App amongst others.
