3rd Party Risk & Compliance Officer

A 3rd Party Risk & Compliance Officer is required by an established, ambitious FinTech to instil a risk aware culture, both within the 1st Line of Defence and with 3rd parties (ARs and IARs). The business is embarking on a period of sustained growth, and you will work closely with the sales team to bolster the 1st Line of Defence whilst also enhancing 2nd Line controls and monitoring through the effective use of technology. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong 1st line quality assurance experience to transition into a 2nd line role.

This is a hybrid role that only requires you to be in the office 2 days a week, with the remaining 3 days spent working from home.

Reporting into the Head of Compliance, your responsibilities will include:

● Supporting the Head of Compliance in developing risk-based oversight plans and lead on the execution and delivery of those plans
● Owning and enhancing the firm’s 3rd party compliance due diligence processes, including KYC and sanctions checks where necessary
● Owning and enhancing ongoing 3rd party oversight, including communication of training and policy updates
● Advising on, and supporting the roll out of compliance training enhancements for 3rd parties, including topics such as financial promotions, Consumer Credit Act and credit broking requirements
● Advising the business on systems, process and control requirements to enable the business to maintain acceptable levels of oversight in line with rapid growth
● Maintaining accurate and up to date records of AR, IAR and other 3rd party compliance and risk matters
● Identifying suitable technology to maintain acceptable levels of oversight and control whilst keeping up with the cadence of new merchants onboarded
● Acting as an ambassador for the Compliance and Risk function throughout the business and 3rd parties, encouraging a risk aware, open and collaborative culture

You will have previous experience in undertaking conduct-based 3rd Party Risk or Compliance Monitoring work within a Financial Services environment, with experience of Retail Banking, Consumer Credit, Insurance or Mortgages being of particular interest. You’ll also have a good working knowledge of the customer journey and an understanding of how to ensure positive customer outcomes. You will also possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and have the ability to communicate complex regulatory matters in an easy to digest form.
