Group Credit Risk Assurance Manager

A Group Credit Risk Assurance Manager is required by a leading Retail Financial Services (primarily focused on mortgage lending) provider to design, deliver and enable effective implementation of their credit risk Quality Assurance framework across all Group business lines to ensure credit activity is conducted within the Group’s agreed risk appetite and approval mandates. The role is based in Wolverhampton with the flexibility to work 2 days a week from home.

Your responsibilities will include

• Developing and maintaining a robust Quality Assurance framework and calendar, ensuring the content and frequency of credit assurance activity is reviewed at least annually and agreed
• Creating and managing a proactive and regular programme of Quality Assurance reviews to a high standard across all Group business lines, encompassing all credit touch points throughout the customer lifecycle (e.g. new business, contract variations, arrears management and forbearance)
• Maintaining and updating Quality Assurance procedures to ensure all activities are carried out to the required standard
• Providing written and verbal feedback of reviews to senior operational stakeholders across the Group
• Facilitating and chairing the quarterly Quality Assurance Forum with business stakeholders, ensuring the appropriate review slides are produced in a timely fashion
• Providing relevant reporting and analytics of the Quality Assurance output to ensure the appropriate oversight at Group Credit Committee and Group Risk Management Committee
• Ensuring the company remains compliant with Responsible Lending requirements
• Maintaining an awareness of key movements within the industry to ensure controls reflect current market risks.
• Managing the day-to-day activities of the Quality Assurance team to ensure all processes are delivered to the required standard on a daily basis

To be considered for this excellent opportunity you will have proven experience in either a Credit Risk or Underwriting capacity within the mortgage lending arena. Any previous experience of developing quality assurance frameworks would be advantageous. You must have gained previous managerial experience, whilst excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.


Salary:To £55k + bonus + benefits
