The framework will need to be compliant and proportionate to the firm’s business model. This role will be key in helping to set the tone for risk management, working closely with all the lines of defence to design and embed the ERMF. This is a newly created role that will be split between the office in Bradford (2 days a week) and home (3 days a week).

Key responsibilities of the role will include

• Assisting in the design and maintenance of an Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).
• Supporting the development and maintenance of Risk Appetite including the development of statements, metrics, early warning indicators and tolerances.
• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of a Conduct Risk Framework.
• Providing accurate, consistent and timely advice to the business on an ongoing basis, including responding to ad hoc queries, contributing to projects, advising on new products and business proposals and contributing to policy and procedure documents.
• Supporting the development of strong management information and data analysis to report on risk related information across all principal risk categories.
• Supporting the development of the RCSA Assurance Framework, covering all relevant risks.
• Providing input to the design, development and maintenance of the 2nd line Assurance Framework.
• Completing targeted risk reviews of high-risk areas to identify risk areas and recommend action plans.
• Facilitation of risk identification workshops for key risk areas to ensure all risks are captured, measured and controlled effectively.
• Supporting the maintenance of risk registers working with risk owners across the business.
• Developing, managing and refining risk reporting to various committees in respect of risk exposure and activities to allow for effective oversight and to support informed risk-based decision-making.
• Coordinating with the Compliance Manager to develop and maintain a risk-based monitoring programme.
• Leading the effective completion of risk assurance activity and ensure actions related to all risks-based activities are tracked to completion and escalated appropriately at the earliest non-compliance.
• Playing key role in ensuring that risk events are managed, remediation activities are undertaken, and that effective and mature preventative measures and controls are implemented.
• Acting as an ambassador for a ‘risk aware’ culture and raising the standards of risk management practices across the business.

You will have strong, demonstrable Risk Management experience in a Financial Services environment and possess a good understanding of operational risk management tools, techniques and control frameworks. You will ideally have experience of people management and will preferably have attained a relevant risk management qualification. Any experience of change or project management would be advantageous as would any experience of Conduct Risk frameworks. In addition, you will possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and must be capable of operating in a fast-paced and constantly evolving landscape.
